The RedCARE system works by using  your existing telephone line to signal messages to your designated Alarm Monitoring Centre which in turn notifies the appropriate authorities - police or fire service, or your keyholder(s). The signals are able to reach the Alarm Monitoring Centre within seconds, ensuring a fast response to your alarm activation.

As RedCARE does not use a telephone dialling method to convey messages to the Alarm Monitoring Centre, no call charges are incurred, even for setting and un-setting the system when entering or leaving the premises. To set it up a computer chip is installed in your alarm panel and your alarm system is then wired to the RedCARE network. Once your alarm company has installed your encoded computer chip your alarm system will start talking to the RedCARE computers.

There is a continuous dialogue between the alarm panel and the RedCARE computers to ensure they are in a stable position. If your system is tampered with, the RedCARE computers will ask the alarm panel if this is so, and if the answer is yes an alarm is activated. The alarm will be acknowledged by the Alarm Monitoring Centre which in turn will respond according to the type of alarm signal received - whether it's a fire alarm, a personal attack, or an intruder.

RedCARE monitors your system continuously and unlike other monitoring services, RedCARE provides line cut detection and comprehensive network duplication. The continuous monitoring of your alarm system is achieved via your ordinary telephone line which is linked to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
